This is a big week for our career and technical student organizations as they all have regional competitions and we begin End of Program testing for students to earn career readiness status. It's a great time to be a highly prepared Camel! #KYpublicschoolsweek

Over the weekend our academic team competed at the Regional Governor's Cup Competition. The Camels are region champions for the 15th year in a row! Our quick recall team finished 2nd and our future problem solving team finished 1st. We had a great showing with the written assessments and 10 Camels qualified for state.
Way to go Camels!

Mrs. Phillips took Early Childhood Education destination students to Frankfort. Rep. Mike Clines and Senator Shelley Funke Frommeyer met with our students to discuss the role our state government plays in Early Childhood Education. Our students represented CCHS well during their visit and are more highly prepared as they enter their careers after high school.

Mark these nights on your calendar next week! As we start to plan for next year, the first step is for students to submit their schedule requests. We have two nights next week to help answer questions and invite families to input their student's schedule requests.

Thank you to The BMW Store, Bray Construction, Alexandria PD, Better Blends, KraussMaffei, Campbell County Library, Campbell Ridge Elementary, and Kids n Kribs for investing your time, energy, and expertise in our students.
Your willingness to collaborate helps bring Project Destination to life. When business and education work together, students gain meaningful real-world experiences, develop professional skills, and grow in confidence as they prepare for their future careers. Together we are building the future.
If you missed the event, don’t worry — we will be hosting another partnership session in April. In the meantime, please contact Holly Phelps, principal at CCHS, or Carolyn Stewart, principal at the ATC, for more information about how to get involved and support our students.

Through intentional planning, teachers are using stations to remediate and extend learning so all students are engaged, challenged, and using feedback to improve their thinking and problem solving. This approach ensures every student gets what they need in the moment.
Our students said it best:
💬 “I like changing up from just listening to the teacher. It makes it fun.”
💬 “I like working in different groups on different topics.”
💬 “I can get more help in the smaller groups. I really like it.”

We are incredibly grateful for you and the impact you make every single day. Join us in showing some love to our amazing counselors and wear pink/red Friday!

Our Wind Ensemble performed at University of Kentucky's Wind Symphony as they prepare for the Kentucky Music Educators Association conference performance. Their KMEA performance will mark only the second time in 20 years our program has earned this incredible honor! We couldn’t be more proud of the dedication, talent, and teamwork they show. Congratulations to our Wind Ensemble and good luck on Thursday!

We hope that our incoming freshman and their families can still make it out to our Freshman Expo Thursday evening. 8th grade visits that were planned for this week are rescheduled to next week. We can't wait to meet the class of 2030!

CC Theatre Arts presents Our Town! Purchase tickets here: https://cctheatrearts.org/winterproduction.
It's cold outside, but it's nice and warm in the theatre! Make plans to join us this weekend to support our talented CCTA students as they bring a classic play to the stage.
Thornton Wilder’s Our Town is a “deeply poignant play that explores the everyday, ordinary lives of the residents of the fictional town of Grover's Corners, New Hampshire”. The play highlights the “beauty and fragility of human existence” and has been described as the greatest American play ever written. It was first performed on January 22, 1938 and received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama on May 2, 1938. With an average of 300 performances a year, Our Town is performed nearly every day in the United States and around the world.
In addition to supporting our students, we would love to honor our town's community members prior to each show.
Friday night we will honor our town's first responders and health care workers.
Saturday's matinee we will honor our town's educators including our wonderful bus drivers and cafeteria workers.
Saturday night we will honor our town's local businesses.
Please invite your friends and fellow community members to see this deeply meaningful show.
Tickets can be purchased at the door or online and are sold as GENERAL ADMISSION for this show. Those groups who are honored prior to each performance, must show their credentials to purchase a discount ticket and be entered in a drawing for TWO free tickets to our spring musical, Seussical (April 30-May 2).
Please consider attending and showing support for our wonderful students as we present Thornton Wilder's Our Town to our town of Alexandria.
Won't you make the time and help pack the theatre in support of our amazing students?

Don't forget PTO's Dine to Donate night at Skyline tonight, Tuesday, Jan 20th. Our Alexandria Skyline is a great supporter of the community and our PTO at CCHS so we hope you choose to have a meal there! Thank you for your continued support of the PTO. Be sure you let them know your order is to be counted toward the fundraiser for the CCHS PTO.
